Dr. Phil Davidson began practicing orthopedics in Utah in the fall of 2008, relocating from Tampa Bay, Florida. In 2010 together with Karen and Eric Heiden they formed Heiden Davidson Orthopedics. Dr. Phil Davidson is renowned for his expertise in Cartilage Restoration and Joint Resurfacing of the knee and shoulder. For more than a decade, he has been among the nation's foremost orthopedists recognized in treating articular cartilage disorders. His particular area of clinical interest and academic acclaim is in the field of biologic and anatomic joint resurfacing. Many patients come to see Dr. Phil Davidson to explore alternatives to total knee replacement.
Dr. Phil Davidson has been recognized by his peers as a surgical innovator and clinical researcher, publishing extensively and teaching surgeons both nationally and internationally. While in Florida, he was on the faculty of the University of South Florida and successfully developed a large, full-service orthopedic clinic there. He is an official consultant for Major League Baseball and The National Football League, having been jointly appointed by the players and owners of the leagues. He has served on an FDA panel to evaluate the safety of treatments being rendered for Osteoarthritis. He was recently asked to present an Instructional Course at the AAOS meeting on Joint Resurfacing in 2011.
Dr. Phil Davidson graduated with high honors from Harvard College, and honors in Research from Cornell University Medical College. His Orthopedic Residency training was at Baylor College of Medicine; he completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
Dr. Phil Davidson sees patients in both Park City and Salt Lake City. He is on the staff of the Park City Medical Center, Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, and LDS Hospital. Outside of medicine, Dr. Phil Davidson enjoys a variety of outdoor sports, fitness and keeping up with his wife and three sons. He and his wife Ruth reside in Park City.
